100 Thieves adds steel to its Valorant roster
100 Thieves now has three in-game-leaders on the squad.
100 Thieves has signed ex-CS:GO pro Josh “steel” Nissan as the third member of its Valorant roster.

steel is a 10-year Counter-Strike veteran who last played for Chaos Esports Club’s CS:GO squad. There, he helped a young roster reach new heights with his experience as a savvy in-game leader. On September 1, he was moved out of the team’s active roster and was designated as afull-time Valorant streamer.
In his long CS:GO career, steel has played with the likes of Matthew “Wardell” Yu (under Ghost Gaming) and Braxton “swag” Pierce and Keven “AZK” Larivière. steel, swag, and AZK were all part of the infamous iBUYPOWER squad that was involved in a match-fixing scandal in 2015.
But with a new and flourishing Valorant esports scene, steel has decided to take the next step in his career by asking Chaos EC to transfer him to 100 Thieves. Chaos EC obliged by saying “we want our players to have the freedom to choose whatever they feel is best for them.”

With the addition of steel to 100 Thieves’ Valorant roster, the North American organization now has three highly skilled in-game leaders who boast illustrious pro careers in the competitive FPS scene.
steel joins Spencer “Hiko” Martin and Nicholas “nitr0” Cannella on the squad. Both Hiko and nitr0 have led Team Liquid’s CS:GO roster, with the latter leading his team to an Intel Masters Grand Slam Season 2 victory in 2019.

With steel, 100 Thieves’ roster now has, on paper, the most accomplished esports players in the entire Valorant scene.
The team still has two more roster slots to fill, however. 100 Thieves’ team captain Hiko has revealed that they arehosting on-going tryouts, which includes the biggest streamer in the world, Tyler “Ninja” Blevins.
