In 2022,Kai’Sa led a new generationof Star Guardians comprising Ekko, Nilah, Sona, Akali, Quinn, Rell, and Taliyah as teased in the“Return to Valoran” video.
The Star Guardian skin line debuted in 2015, featuring the original squad comprising Lux, Janna, Jinx, Poppy, and Lulu. These skins were inspired by magical girl anime shows, such asCardcaptor Sakura, Sailor Moon, and Puella Magi Madoka Magica.
Its strong anime theme made this skin line an instant hit among players. Riot Games then expanded the skin line, adding more champions to the pack in 2017, 2019, and 2022.
