At 33 years old, Vision Strikers glow retires from Valorant pro play
Glow helped Vision Strikers make history.
Vision Strikers’ glow has decided to retire from Valorant professional play at the age of 33. The announcement was made two weeks after Vision Strikers failed to qualify for theVCT Stage 2 Masters tournament in Reykjavík, Iceland.
Vision Strikers glow shares why he decided to retire
Vision Strikers Kim “glow” Min-soo noted that the team’s success is a result of great patience and hard work. But things began to unravel at the start of theValorant Champions Tour 2021 season.
“My time as a player was coming to an end and I myself felt this the most especially over Challengers 1, and Challengers 2, where we ended up shocking a lot of people with our loss and where I felt that my ceiling as a player was at its limit,” said glow.
Vision Strikers glow shared there was a huge age gap between him and his teammates. The second-oldest player in Vision Strikers’ active roster is Kim “stax” Gu-taek, who is only 21 years old.
The 13-year veteran also mentioned that his age was a factor in arriving at his decision. “Taking into consideration my age and the future success of our team, I think that this is the right time for me to retire.”
“While I took on the role of the in-game leader on this team, I am grateful to my teammates who didn’t treat me any differently despite our huge age gap, and will reminisce about my time on this roster with fond memories.”
Vision Strikers glow shares what’s next for the team
Glow believes that Vision Strikers will develop even further, becoming an organization that not only conquers the domestic scene, but the international stage as well.
“Although it is disappointing that we failed to qualify forIceland in Challengers 2, the players will take this time to meticulously reflect on everything and will win another championship eventually. I sincerely hope that the players will be able to achieve that goal,” shared glow.

How Vision Strikers glow reached the top of the Valorant esports scene
Together with glow, Vision Strikers dominated the Korean Valorant esports scene since the game was released in June 2020. The team won every tournament they entered, except forVCT 2021 Korea Stage 2 Challengers.
Vision Strikers also set an unprecedented record of 104 straight winsin official matches without dropping a single series, up untilF4Q ended their run during VCT Stage 2 Challengers.
