Attack on Titan creator Hajime Isayama and Yuki Kaji team up to create a new manga
Soyogi Fractal is a new one-shot manga project inspired by Yuki Kaji’s digital singing avatar, Soyogi Soyogi.
The character of Soyogi utilizes voice synthesis software similar to Vocaloid-based performers (like Hatsune Miku) to replicate and manipulate Kaji’s voice.
This project commemorates Yuki Kaji’s 20th anniversary as a voice actor. Isayama will provide the draft version of the manga, and a contest will determine the manga artist who will illustrate the one-shot.
Artists can participate in the contest on theCampfire website, which was shared by Kaji. The contest is open untilApril 30, 2024.
The character art by Mai Yoneyama was released alongside theannouncement, giving a first look at the protagonist of the one-shot, Soyogi Soyogi.
The character’s design resembles a musical artist’s, which aligns with the project’s focus on music and creativity.
According to Kaji, the project aims to provide a platform for creative expression, welcoming professionals and amateurs to contribute their ideas without constraints.
Soyogi Fractal release schedule
The manga is scheduled for publishing in Summer 2024 in both Weekly Shounen Magazine and Bessatsu Shonen Magazine.
