Blacklist International’s BON CHAN: ‘We want to face Team SMG at MPLI’

After winning theMobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional LeaguePhilippines Season 8 (MPL PH Season 8), Blacklist International is fully prepared for the upcomingONE Esports’ MPLI 2021and M3 World Championship.
For Blacklist head coach Bonn “BON CHAN” Ricaplaza, there’s one team in particular outside the Philippines who caught their eye and want to face in an international tournament –MPL MY Season 8 champion Team SMG.

In the post-grand final press conference, two-time MPL PH champion head coach BON CHAN answered which team they want to be included in their bracket for MPLI 2021.
“We want to face Team SMG,” BON CHAN said. “They swept their (MPL MY Season 8) finals so I think they’re a good opponent and we want to face them,”
Similarly, Johnmar “OhMyV33nus” Villaluna also mentioned that he wanted to face Team SMG in the M3 World Championship.
“For me Team SMG because they swept Todak and I think they’re a solid team,” he stated.
Team SMG’s meteoric rise in the MLBB scene
Team SMG has been in the league for a while, but their recent roster change such as the acquisition of Former ONIC Esports Indonesia’s Lu “SaSa” Khai Bean gave them enough firepower to blast through MPL MY Season 8.
In the grand final,they swept MPL MY Season 6 champion Todak to get their first-ever MPL MY crown.
It’s also worth noting that the team is led by former RRQ Hoshi coach and two-time Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League Indonesia championJames “Jamesss” Chen, giving them an advantage when it comes to competing internationally.
Aside from MPLI 2021, the team will also represent Malaysia in the upcoming M3 World Championship.
