Ryo is the series’ main protagonist. He was orphaned at age three in a plane crash in Central America. Raised as a guerrilla fighter, he later migrates to the United States and settles in Tokyo.
Initially partnered with Hideyuki Makimura, Ryo forms the City Hunter team, but after Hideyuki’s death, Kaori becomes his new partner.
Ryo is a skilled gunman known for his one-hole shot, where multiple shots hit the same spot on the target, using his preferred weapon, the Colt Python .357 Magnum.
Kaori Makimura (Misato Morita)
Kaori is Ryo Saeba’s partner. She handles client arrangements and other managerial duties.
She often becomes annoyed by Ryo’s skirt-chasing behavior. Despite their frequent arguments, they make a great team. Sometimes, her hairstyle gets her mistaken for a man.
Hideyuki Makimura (Masanobu Ando)
Hideyuki Makimura is Kaori’s adopted older brother and Ryo’s original partner. Although not related by blood, their father adopted Kaori when she was a child.
Hideyuki is a former police detective known for his strong sense of justice.
