Disguised Toast part ways with Valorant roster after NA Challengers League run

It was fun while it lasted.

Jeremy “Disguised Toast” Wanghas let go of his entire Valorant roster Disguised (DSG) a day before the grand final of theVCT North America Challengers League.

DSG released the team’s coach and players, including Valorant superstar Jaccob “yay” Whiteaker, aMasters Reykjavik 2022 championwho joined the team before Split 2.

The announcement was made on June 10, four days after the team was relegated from NA’s tier 2 scene when they lost to MAD Lions 2-0 in an elimination match.

According toDSG’s post, the organization is re-evaluating its future in the professional Valorant scene.

DSG was founded by Offline TV member Disguised Toast on January 9 when the team signed players Joshua “steel” Nissan, Drake “Exalt” Branly, Amgalan “Genghsta” Nemekhbayar, Joseph “clear” Allen, and Damion “XXiF” Cook. Toast also brought in Kyle “OCEAN” O’Brien as the team’s head coach.

DSG had a great start together, winningseven straight open qualifier matchesthat advanced them to the NA Challengers League. However, the team struggled for the remainder of the NA Challengers League, finishing 8th in Split 1, followed by a 7th-8th finish in the Mid Season Face Off.

DSG tried to turn their season around by recruiting the renownedValorant superstar yay. However, the former OpTic Gaming and Cloud9 standout couldn’t achieve the same success with DSG, as they finished their group stage run in Split 2 without a single win.

DSG went 0-7, which resulted in the team dropping out of the NA Challengers League. After the team’s last loss, yay expressed his frustration about the team’s run and explained that he would donate hislast paycheck from DSGto charity because he felt he didn’t deserve it.

Whether Toast plans to bring back Disguised for next year’s Challengers league remains unclear. If he does, the team must make it through the open qualifiers again.
