The last Worlds 2022 qualification match of theLCK Regional Qualifierssaw an incredible performance from DRX top laner Hwang “Kingen” Seong-hoon on Jax.
In their series againstLiiv SANDBOX, it all came down to a fifth and final game. Holding a 6,000 gold lead by the 15-minute mark, DRX Kingen pushed their advantage even further during a dragon pit team fight.

At around 16 minutes, Liiv SANDBOX contested Lee “Juhan” Ju-han’s claim on the Ocean drake. Kim “Croco” Dong-beom’s Vi entered the pit with Vault Breaker, but Juhan immediately stunned the enemy jungler with Sejuani’s Glacial Prison.
While Juhan secured their second drake, the rest of LSB dogpiledKim “Deft” Hyuk-kyu‘s Zeri inside the pit. Coming from the mid lane, Kingen waited for the perfect moment to strike.
As the rest of the two teams crowded inside the pit, the Jax player leapt ontoLee “Prince” Chae-hwan‘s Sivir and stunned the AD carry as well as two other LSB players with Counter Strike. This gave enough time for the rest of DRX to hammer down on the remaining enemies.
Kingen and his crew picked up an ace in the fight and extended their lead to 10,000 gold. With the enemy team still deep in their death timers, DRX secured two outer turrets and a second Rift Herald crash on the inner mid lane turret.
By 23 minutes, DRX claimed another ace and sieged the enemy base, claiming the victory and qualifying for the Worlds 2022 Play-In Stage.

While Kingen has been to the international tournament as a KT Rolster substitute in 2018, he feels that this qualification feels much more satisfying.
“This time around, I made it to Worlds with my own hands, so I’m so happy and proud of ourselves,” Kingen said in the post-match interview.
Hong “Pyosik” Chang-hyeon also talked about his battle for a starting position with Juhan. Despite being a substitute in the qualification match, Pyosik promised that he’ll do his best if he gets to play at Worlds.
As the LCK’s fourth seed, DRX will compete in the Worlds 2022 Play-In Stage on September 29.
