Riot Games has officially revealed Heartsteel, its newest all-boy virtual group, who will highlight the ongoing League of Legends World Championship (Worlds 2023).

The boy group reimagines six beloved League of Legends champions — Ezreal, Kayn, Aphelios, Yone, K’Sante, and Sett.

Heartsteel’s debut song and music video titled “Paranoia” was released on Monday, October 23 at 8 a.m. PST | 3 p.m. GMT | 11 p.m. GMT+8 on all major listening platforms.

Fans experienced the group’s “character-forward songwriting and relentless energy” in “Paranoia.”

“The group’s personality and sound draws inspiration from modern music collectives, and a range of influences from across genres and eras, culminating in a bold, one-of-a-kind identity,” Riot Games said in a press release.

Heartsteel features collaborations with popular artistes in the music industry from a variety of genres, namely the main vocalist ofKorean pop group, EXO’s Baekhyun, Los-Angeles-based rapper Cal Scruby, Taiwanese-American singer-songwriter and rapper ØZI, and Nigerian hip-hop/rap artiste Tobi Lou.

Prior to Heartsteel’s arrival on the music scene, Riot Games Music (RGM) had launched other acts like K/DA, True Damage, and Pentakill, all of which are comprised of League of Legends champions in an alternate universe.

Its most popular virtual group is K/DA, featuring champions Ahri, Kai’Sa, Evelynn, and Akali. The group’s debut single “POP/STARS” was certified Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), and its music video became the most successful debut for a K-pop group in YouTube history with over 560M YouTube views to date.

Shortly after K/DA’s debut, RGM launched True Damage, a hip-hop virtual group whose music has reached over 165 million streams across digital service providers.
