Here’s the complete schedule of First Strike tournaments for Southeast Asia
And how to watch them.
Riot’s First Strike competitions are presently underway, with the Southeast Asian leg noted to provide exciting opportunities for aspiring players who may be aiming to build their regional legacies through the official Valorant esports and collegiate circuit.
On a professional level,as previously announced, the following partners will be running tournaments in their respective regions: Mineski Philippines (the Philippines), The Gaming Company (Malaysia and Singapore), ONE Up (Indonesia), ESL (Thailand), and Talon (Hong Kong and Taiwan).
The details regarding these regional tournaments are listed below.
The Philippines
This event features the biggest First Strike prize pool in the region at approximately US$10,200 (PHP500,000). The online qualifiers will be played in a best-of-one format on previously selected maps. The best four teams will be advancing to the Group Stage, where 16 in total will be divided into four groups.
The Group Stage will then be conducted in a best-of-one format as well, with the best two teams from each group moving forward. The quarterfinals and semifinals will consist of best-of-three games, while the finals will be a best-of-five.
Malaysia and Singapore
With a prize pool of about US$4,800 (MYR20,000), the road to the Regional Finals will consist of four open qualifiers. The best four teams of each qualifier will then advance to the Group Stage, where they — 16 in total — will be divided into two groups; after which the best eight teams will duke it out in the Regional Finals.
Indonesia
This region offers a prize pool of over US$6,700 (IDR100,000,000). The open qualifiers will be conducted in a best-of-one format, with the semifinals in a best-of-three. The best four teams from both these qualifiers will then move forward to the Regional Finals. The winners of this tournament will also earn tickets to the Indonesian Major Tournament in 2021, though no further information has been released yet.
Thailand
With a prize pool of approximately US$4,800 (THB150,000), this tournament will feature eight teams, three of which will receive direct invites and one that will earn their win through theOctober Monthly Finalsof the Open Series Weekly by Intel. The open qualifiers will be conducted in a best-of-one format, with the semifinals in a best-of-three. The best two teams from both these qualifiers will join the other four teams in advancing to the Regional Finals. The Grand Finals will then be a best-of-five game between the competitors.
Hong Kong and Taiwan
The prize pool will be announced on the same day as when registrations open, while further information will be provided at a later date.
