No one expected IG to completely crush the Korean champions.

IG wasn’t the only group who made a LoL record as SKT made a bold decision to lock in aSona-Taricbot lane duo, a first for any professional Korean team.
In response, IG decided to go for a solid line-up featuring crowd control champions. IG Kang “TheShy” Seung-lok took the top lane with Kennen, while IG Gao “Ning” Zhen-Ning revived the Camille meta on the jungle. IG Song “Rookie” Eui-jin chose to play as Ryze on the mid lane. To go against SKT’s bot lane pick, IG Yu “JackeyLove” Wen-Bo and IG Wang “Baolan” Liu-Yi chose to go for a Draven-Nautilus combination.
As soon as the fight started, everyone on both teams immediately moved to the dragon river, with the clash between both squads creating yet another record — the fastest first blood in MSI history. The kill happened at the 39-second mark, featuring SKT Kim “Clid” Tae-min’s Lee Sin’s assassination of IG Rookie’s Ryze.
The clash then became an even trade as IG JackeyLove’s Draven dispatched SKT Park “Teddy” Jin-seong’s Sona in return.

It was a very aggressive start for both teams, but IG Ning’s Camille immediately took the spotlight as he repeatedly killed off SKT Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok on the mid lane.
With a few more pickoffs, the Rift Herald and huge damage from IG JackeyLove, Invictus Gaming pushed the mid lane and tore down SKT’s inhibitor in just under the 13-minute mark, before rotating to the bot lane and finishing off SKT’s Nexus just three minutes later.
