Rivaldi “R7” Fatahhas been one of the most important contributors to RRQ Hoshi. Since joining the team in Season 4, the EXP laner has led the king of kings to win four titles to become one of thebest teams in MPL Indonesia.
Before joining RRQ’sMobile Legends: Bang Bangdivision, he was a pro player forDota 2for three years from 2016 to 2019, totaling six years as an esports player.
After playing for such a long time competitively, the 24-year-old revealed that it has taken a toll on his health and is now suffering from the common injury many veteran esports players experiences — a hand injury.
R7 says tight schedules are a big reason for his recurring hand injury
In alivestreamwith retired EVOS Legends star Eko “Oura” Julianto, he said that hours of practicing non-stop have come back to bite him.
“My hands hurt, I swear,” he said. “From my thumb, my arm, and all the way to my elbow feel sore.”
This isn’t the first time an MLBB pro player publicly revealed that they are suffering from an injury that comes from competing for a long time.
EVOS Legends’Gustian “REKT”also revealed in Season 9 that he was diagnosed with cubital tunnel syndrome, a neurological disorder affecting his arms and hands. He has since retired from competitive play to become a full-time content creator.
His former teammate in RRQ Hoshi, Diky “Tuturu”, also retired in Season 6 after suffering a similar condition affecting his hands.
With theM4 World Championshipjust a few months away, R7 said that he is currently undergoing physical therapy to alleviate the pain and be 100% ready for the tournament.
“There’s a sports massage, but my hands won’t get better right away and I’m not allowed to overuse it either,” he added.
