LPL Summer Split 2022: Full roster of every team competing
Will these changes lead to Worlds qualification?
League of Legends Pro League’s (LPL)representative at the Mid-Season InvitationalRoyal Never Give Upmade history as the first team to win back-to-back MSI titles, and the first to win three in total.
After a short break, just like other major regions, the LPL Summer Split 2022 will kick off in June. It is the most important season of the year as teams reform and reunite with only one goal in mind — Worlds 2022 qualification.
To keep up to date with the latest roster changes, here is the full list of LPL rosters of all 17 teams competing in the Summer Split.
Full team rosters for LPL Summer Split 2022
Edward Gaming
The2021 League of Legends World Championswill compete in the LPL Summer Split 2022 with the same winning roster, with changes to its substitute roster.
Former top laner Huang “Xiaoxiang” Xiang left for ThunderTalk Gaming, while Rare Atom jungler Yu “JunJia” Chun-Chia has joined the team.
Edward Gaming finished 7th in the LPL Spring 2022 standings to qualify for the playoffs, but were eliminated by Weibo Gaming in Round 2.
Royal Never Give Up
The MSI 2022 champions made a surprise announcement just after the roster took home the championship: top laner Chen “Bin” Ze-Bin has traded places with Bilibili Gaming’s Chen “Breathe” Chen.
Ultra Prime
Ultra Prime made one change to their lineup for the Summer season in the top lane. Huang “Aliez” Hao has left the team, and is replaced by former JD Gaming and Top Esports top laner Zhang “Zoom” Xing-Ran who was benched for the most part last season.
Invictus Gaming
Invictus Gamingmade a few tweaks to their roster in the middle of Spring, welcoming the return of Zhang “Wink” Rui and adding Li “Mole” Hao-Yan.
The young roster is still developing with fleeting moments of brilliance. Despite their struggles in Spring, they did manage to pull off upsets against top tier teams JD Gaming, Rare Atom, and Bilibili Gaming.
Biblibili Gaming
Jian “Uzi” Zi-Haois no longer part of the Bilibili Gaming roster for the upcoming LPL Summer Split 2022. On March 24, the organization announced that he will betaking a break from pro play.
Top laner Chen “Breathe” Chen was traded for Chen “Bin” Ze-Bin after Royal Never Give Up won MSI 2022, while mid laner Dai “xiaodai” Hong-Fei was promoted from their academy roster. BLG also added Xie “icon” Tian-Yu to their roster.
Bilibili Gaming made it to Round 2 of the 2022 LPL Spring playoffs, where they were eliminated by Top Esports 3-1.
Anyone’s Legend
Former Flash Wolves star mid laner Huang “Maple” Yi-Tang left Anyone’s Legend after one split, joining TSM for the 2022 LCS Summer Split under head coachWong “Chawy” Xing Lei.
Former Rare Atom mid laner Deng “Forge” Ji, who didn’t compete in Spring, is back with Anyone’s Legend for the LPL Summer Split 2022.
FunPlus Phoenix
After one split, Kim “Gori” Tae-woo left FunPlus Phoenix to join PSG Talon in the PCS. As a result, FunPlus Phoenix promoted their academy mid laner Yang “Care” Jie to the main roster.
FunPlus Phoenix started their 2022 LPL Spring playoffs run in Round 1, but their journey was cut short by Edward Gaming after taking a 3-1 loss.
On June 18,FPX announcedthat former Cloud9 top laner Park “Summit” Woo-tae has joined the team.
JD Gaming
JD Gaming’s main roster will be sticking together for the LPL Summer Split 2022 under head coachYoon “Homme” Sung-young. All their former substitutes except for Chen “Yimeng” Ming-Yong have departed.
The team finished third in the regular season with a 11-5 match record. In the LPL Spring 2022 playoffs, they lost to Victory Five in the lower bracket and were eliminated.
LGD Gaming
Former ThunderTalk top laner Xia “Chelizi” Han-Xi has joined the team for the LPL Summer Split 2022, while mid laner Zhang “haichao” Hai-Chao and substitute jungler Ding “Kui” Zi-Hao were promoted from LGD Gaming’s academy roster.
LNG Esports
LNG Esports will compete with the exact same roster for the LPL Summer Split 2022, with star mid laner Kim “Doinb” Tae-sang and jungler Lee “Tarzan” Seung-yong leading the charge.
The team was seeded into Round 3 of the 2022 LPL Spring playoffs, where they got swept by Top Esports 3-0.
Oh My God
Newcomers Chi “0909” Zhi-Hong from EDG’s academy roster and Zhou “Jerry” Ke-Xue, from Victory Five’s academy squad have joined Oh My God for Summer.
Rare Atom
Finishing in ninth place in the regular season, Rare Atom just managed to qualify for the 2022 LPL Spring playoffs, but quickly lost out after they were defeated by Bilibili Gaming 3-1 in the first round.
They have stuck with the same main roster going into the LPL Summer Split 2022, headlined by bot laner Hu “iBoy” Xian-Zhao.
Top Esports
Besides the departure of Zhang “Zoom” Xing-Ran, who joined Ultra Prime, Top Esports’ main roster remains intact.
After testing various iterations, their core five comprising Huang “Wayward” Ren-Xing, Gao “Tian” Tian-Liang, Zhuo “knight” Ding, Yu “JackeyLove” Wen-Bo, and Wang “Zhuo” Xu-Zhuo delivered the best results. Fighting for tournament lives from Round 3 of the 2022 LPL Spring playoffs, Top Esports took it all the way to the grand final where they were bested byRoyal Never Give Up3-2.
Team WE
Team WE finished in 15th place out of 17 teams in LPL Spring 2022, which might have prompted their recent acquisitions.
For Summer, they will be competing with veteran bot laner Han “Smlz” Jin, who was last seen on Ultra Prime in Summer 2021. Together with Su “xiye” Han-Wei, Team WE now have years of competitive experience under their belt.
ThunderTalk Gaming
Former DAMWON KIA top laner Yoon “Hoya” Yong-ho has joined ThunderTalk Gaming for Summer, the second South Korean player on the team after Son “Ucal” Woo-hyeon.
Victory Five
Victory Five promoted their academy mid laner Tan “Dream” Wen-Xiang to the main roster, who now stands alongside veteran Song “Rookie” Eui-jin.
The organization surprised in Spring where they dropped only two matches, finishing first in the standings above Royal Never Give Up. In the playoffs, they made a deep run despite dropping to the lower bracket in Round 4.
Defeating JD Gaming 3-1, they advanced to the lower bracket semifinals for a rematch with Top Esports, but lost 3-1 and bowed out.
Weibo Gaming
Weibo Gaming finished their first LPL season strong in sixth place with a 11-5 match score. They made a splash by upsetting the 2021 World Champions Edward Gaming in Round 2 of the playoffs, but lost to JD Gaming 3-2 in the next round, ending their run.
