The fourth iteration of the tournament brings exciting new developments. For the first time, the tournament will take place in Indonesia with a live audience.VietnamandMyanmarwill also be returning this year, following their absence at theM3 World Championship.
Here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming tournament, including its schedule, format, participating teams, and where to watch the matches live.
What is the M4 World Championship?
The M4 World Championship is the fourth iteration of the biggest and most prestigious Mobile Legends: Bang Bang tournament in the world.
In this tournament, 16 qualified teams from different regions will cross swords for the lion’s share of the US$800,000 prize pool and the right to be called the best MLBB team in the world.
Last year, the Philippines’Blacklist Internationalwere the ones to walk away with theM3 World Championshipcrown, and they will be looking to defend their title.
M4 World Championship format
The tournament is split into two parts – the group stage and the knockout stage.
In the group stage, the 16 qualified teams are split into four groups and will play in a best-of-one, single round-robin format. The top two of each group will proceed to the upper bracket while the bottom two will be placed in the lower bracket.
The knockout stage will have a double-elimination format. All series in the knockout stage are played in a best-of-five format, except for the first two rounds of the lower bracket and the grand final, which will be a best-of-three and best-of-seven series, respectively.
