TheM5 Wild Cardis the inaugural qualification tournament for an M-series, showcasing eight teams from MPL and non-MPL regions.
This competition, which takes place over four days, decides which two teams will join the other 14 qualified teams at M5.
Prominent regions set to compete in the tournament are Mongolia, Nepal, andChina, who make their M-series debut.
What is the M5 Wild Card qualifier?
The M5 Wild Card is a prelude to the M5 World Championship, taking place one month before the main event.
In the wild card, eight teams will vie for the coveted two slots in the M5 group stage.
These slots are open to runner-ups from various MPL leagues, as well as promising teams from emerging regions, including Mongolia and China.
M5 Wild Card format
Eight teams will be randomly assigned to two groups. They will then compete in a single round-robin format.
The top two teams in each group will advance to the crossover matches, while the remaining four will be eliminated.
Each group’s first seed team will face the opposite group’s second seed team. The winners secure a slot in the M5 World Championship group stage.
Team Falcons and 4Merical Esports have been eliminated.
