New venues for M4 World Championship announced, some ticket holders to be refunded

Not everyone still has a seat.

The venue for both the group stage and the knockout stage of theM4 World Championshiphas been changed, Moonton announced onFacebookyesterday evening.

Previously, the group stage from January 1 to 4 was supposed to be held at XO Hall, while the entirety of the knockout stage from January 7 to 15 would be held at Istora Senayan stadium in Central Jakarta.

However, Moonton stated that due to “unforeseen circumstances and in order to provide the best possible experience to fans,” they are changing the venue, less than a month before the start of the tournament.

The group stage will now be held at Bali United Studio, West Jakarta, while the knockout stage and the grand final will be held at Tennis Indoor Senayan, located in the same complex as Istora Senayan.

“This is done to ensure that we can provide a safe and conducive experience for our team, fans, and gaming community,” they wrote.

According to a report byLiga Game, a fire broke out in XO Hall, where the group stage was supposed to take place, on Monday due to an electrical short circuit. No one was harmed in the incident.

The new venue means that Moonton will have to rethink some of its plans. Istora Senayan can seat 7,180 people, according to the Gelora Bung Karno Sports Complex website. However, the new Tennis Indoor Stadium can only accommodate 3,300 people, a drop of more than 50%.

Due to the decreased seating capacity, not everyone who bought a ticket will have a seat. Moonton will be refunding tickets for those affected, and will also be giving out 250 in-game diamonds for the inconvenience.
