No more EU spots in the CDL after London Royal Ravens relocate
No more London, no more Europe in the CDL.
The final step in the exodus of Europe for the Call of Duty League has been taken. The London Royal Ravens are no more as the organization moves to North America.
Theofficial announcementthanked the London fans, “From hosting the very first CDL Major for you in 2020 to this very moment, your passion for our team and the games we’ve played are unrivaled. We will always be grateful for the four years we spent flying the flag for the UK and the support you gave us.”
The London Royal Ravens become the Carolina Royal Ravens
The organization takes its home to Charlotte, North Carolina, becoming the Carolina Royal Ravens. “The next chapter of the Royal Ravens will be fueled by the energy, culture, and resilience of the Carolinas,” the post reads.
Despite the Royal Ravens being a name based around the ravens who take refuge in the Tower of London being viewed as the protectors of the crown, that part of the brand will remain thanks to a bit more history. Charlotte, NC is known as The Queen City, having been named after Queen Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz.

The Royal Ravens join the Legion as European teams who departed for the states. Once native to Paris, the Legion now calls Las Vegas home.
According to a reportfrom Sports Business Journal back in June, the Royal Ravens had also been eyeing the possibility of relocating to Mexico City, Chicago, and Washington, DC as backup options.
This will allow the squad to avoid latency issues caused by playing across the Atlantic in addition to providing some logistical benefits when it comes to travel and such.
The Carolina Royal Ravens are the latest rebrand, with theMiami Heretics officially revealed as new Florida CDL brand with Spanish rosterfollowing a partnership between Spanish organization Team Heretics and the Florida Mutineers CDL team.
It’s currently unknown what the first roster the organization will present state-side, but one thing is for certain.
