Road to MPLI 2023: MENA’s Team Falcons aim to fly high in international debut

Team Falconsis set to make their inaugural international debut at theONE Esports Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League Invitational 2023 (MPLI 2023), representing the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
As runner-ups of MPL MENA Fall 2023, the squad rose to the occasion after the withdrawal of the reigning champion, Triple Esports.
While the organization is relatively new to the professionalMobile Legendsscene, they recruited a handful of veterans, including their coach, who brings a wealth of experience.
A preview of Team Falcons going to MPLI 2023
Star jungler Mahmoud “Lio” Elsayed and EXP laner Abdulaziz “Hulk” Sulaimani, both well-respected veterans in the region, will be spearheading the team’s campaign in the upcoming tournament.
Lio and Hulk, victorious inMPL MENA Fall 2022with Occupy Thrones, showcased their skills in M4 World Championship, where they advanced to the playoffs.
Additionally, Lio, a nominee for the10 Greatest Players award, led Occupy to the MPL MENA Spring 2023 championship, earning them a spot inMLBB Southeast Asia Cup 2023.
Adding to the team’s diversity is the promising Filipino gold laner, Patrick “Lawtrick” Ciego, formerly a substitute for TODAK, who won the MPL Malaysia Season 11 title.
Lawtrick played a crucial role in the team’s journey to the MPL MENA Fall 2023 grand final — he was named game MVP three times during the playoffs.
Steering the squad is Kevin “Ola” Olavere, a seasoned Filipino coach who led BURN x FLASH to a title in MPL Cambodia Spring 2023, and guided Team Occupy in MSC 2023.
As they enter MPLI, the MENA representatives are poised to showcase their incredible team-fighting prowess that enabled them to sweep both Okami Esports and Triple Esports in the upper bracket of MPL MENA Fall 2023.
