Sentinels concluded their unbeaten streak at theAfreecaTV Valorant League 2023with a decisive 3-0 victory over VCT Pacific League 2023 champions, Paper Rex, in the grand final.
The Americas League team kicked off their AVL 2023 journey with an impressive 2-1 win against PRX in their opening match.
Subsequently, they secured a 2-0 triumph over the formidable Korean squad DRX, followed by a hard-fought 2-1 victory against VCT EMEA League 2023 champions Team Liquid.
SEN’s off-season improvements were evident throughout their AVL 2023 campaign, showcasing their dominance on the Split with a perfect 3-0 record in the tournament.

Split has been SEN’s most successful map, and this trend continued at the start of the grand final.
The team’s double controller comp with TenZ on Omen and zellsis on Viper made moving around the map difficult for PRX.
Omen and Viper effectively utilized dual-layered smokes in A main, disrupting PRX’s aggressive attack strategy.
This tactical approach allowed SEN players to execute swift rotations and challenge PRX’s post-plant positions, resulting in a dominant 9-3 half for the hopium squad.
SEN maintained control of Split even after halftime, thanks to zekken’s impactful Blast Pack entries on Raze that overwhelmed PRX.
Despite PRX’s best efforts, SEN secured a swift 1-0 lead with a convincing 13-7 victory on Split.
In the second map, Sunset, SEN sought revenge for their 13-7 loss on the same map to PRX in the opening match.
As PRX worked on clearing a path to the spike sites, SEN disrupted their progress by aggressively advancing down mid, causing a delay.
After concluding the first half with a tied score of 6-6, SEN gained the upper hand against PRX when they switched sites. PRX attempted to mirror SEN’s strategy by aggressively pushing down mid.
But SEN outperformed them in post-plant executes, securing favorable trades that proved decisive in winning crucial rounds. With a 13-10 victory on Sunset, SEN extended their lead to a commanding 2-0 over PRX.
On the verge of being swept, PRX made their gamble by picking Yoru for Jason “f0rsakeN” Susanto on Breeze.
The final map began evenly, with both teams exchanging round wins. At halftime, SEN held a slight 7-5 lead, keeping PRX within striking distance.
However, the second half saw SEN dominating the game, with the Americas League squad looking untouchable.
SEN secured a convincing 13-6 victory, which won them their first tournament win since 2021.
