T1 Keria opens with support Camille, switches it up to win first Telecom War of LCK Summer
Faker answers with a reverse sweep!
Day 5 of theLeague of LegendsChampions Korea (LCK) Summer Split 2022featured the classic Telecom War rivalry betweenT1and KT Rolster.
T1 experimented in game one by putting support playerRyu “Keria” Min-seokon Camille, a champion that’s conventionally played in the top lane and jungle. AD carry playerLee “Gumayusi” Min-hyeongexplained that they were testing out a dive composition with Camille and Kalista, but lost the game because KT Rolster had the better draft.
T1 ties things up with the help of Elder Drake
In game two, T1 went for a double marksman composition withLee “Faker” Sang-hyeokon Corki and Gumayusi on Jinx. Top lanerChoi “Zeus” Woo-jedecided to pick Gangplank over Gnar so that he could punish KT’s aggressive playstyle with Gangplank’s global ultimate, Cannon Barrage.
At the 29-minute mark, Kim “Life” Jeong-min’s Jarvan IV and Kim “Aiming” Ha-ram’s Kalista caught the Gangplank player out with Cataclysm. Zeus countered, and took down Life with Powder Kegs, Cannon Barrage, and the Elder Drake buff.
After losing the 2v1 skirmish, Aiming tried to fall back to his base, but was cut off by Moon “Oner” Hyeon-joon’s Viego. Once Aiming’s Guardian Angel brought him back to life, Zeus eliminated him with another well-placed Powder Keg.
Faker’s Corki and Gumayusi’s Jinx unleashed mayhem with Missile Barrage and Fishbones respectively and executed their opponents with the help of Elder Drake. With only Life left to defend, T1 sieged the base to claim the game two victory.
T1 aces KT Rolster to secure the reverse sweep
Faker and the boys closed out the series after an incredible late game skirmish in game three.
Once KT Rolster claimed the Baron, T1 engaged them right outside the pit. Faker and the squad stood their ground in the river and even poked down Lee “Aria” Ga-eul’s Ahri down to half health.
Aiming’s Kai’Sa tried to eliminate Faker’s Corki by diving into T1’s backline with Killer Instinct, but failed to execute him since he had Guardian Angel. The surprise attack turned into a 2v1 punish from T1, as Gumayusi’s Xayah and Faker teamed up to take out the Kai’Sa player.
The rest of T1 dogpiled on the remaining KT members for the ace, with Gumayusi picking up a flashy quadra kill. After the final fight, the squad stormed the enemy base and destroyed the Nexus, ending the Telecom War series with a reverse sweep.
T1 now holds a 2-0 record and will face Liiv SANDBOX on June 23 at 8 p.m. GMT+9 | 7 p.m. GMT+8 | 11 a.m. GMT | 4 a.m. PT.
