Team SMG’s Valorant roster adds Jinggg and Freyr for VCT MY/SG Stage 3
VCT MY/SG Week 1 Qualifier starts July 3.
Southeast Asian esports organization Team SMG’s Valorant roster just signed Wang Jing “Jinggg” Jie and Ingram “Freyr” Tan as its new members.
The squad’s player shuffle began on July 25, 2025, when their resident sentinel and site anchor specialistJavier “Egoist” Chuadecided to step down from the team. The move opened up a spot in Team SMG’s Valorant roster.
Jinggg has been a duelist main since the start of his Valorant pro career, while Freyr has been playing the sentinel role.
The two players have been teammates since late last year when they both representedReality Rift, until the organization decided to release its Valorant roster in March 2021. The two have continued to play together throughout the VCT Malaysia & Singapore Stage 2 competition.
Team SMG’s Valorant roster for VCT Stage 3 Challengers 1
The updated roster will be competing in the upcomingVCT Malaysia & Singapore Stage 3 Week 1 Qualifieron July 3. Qualified teams will advance to the Week 1 Playoffs with the top four teams continuing to Week 2 of the Playoffs.
All teams participating in the VCT Stage 3 Challenger competitions are looking to proceed to the VCT Stage 3 SEA Challenger Finals, where the winner will represent Southeast Asia at VCT Stage 3 Masters Berlin.
Team SMG’s VCT 2021 season so far
Team SMG’s Valorant roster has been one of the top contenders in the VCT Malaysia & Singapore region. The all-Singaporean squad were the runner-ups during VCT Malaysia & Singapore Stage 1 Challengers 1 and 3, and garnered a second-place finish at the VCT SEA Stage 1 Masters.
Team SMG’s most recent tournament run ended with another second-place finish at the VCT Malaysia & Singapore Stage 2 Challengers 3.
