TenZ says this controller agent is the closest thing to playing Jett
Always a player maker.
Valorant superstarTyson “TenZ” Ngois renowned for his remarkable highlights, especially playing Jett.
With Sentinels running a new lineup and agent comp however, TenZ has mainly played controller and initiator agents since Zachary “Zekken” Patrone took over the primary duelist role.
Despite his team’s decision to part him with the flashy duelist, TenZ has found the perfect alternative — an agent he considers Jett’s counterpart in the controller role.
TenZ explains how Omen is similar to Jett
AfterSentinels’ impressive 2-1 victoryover Pacific League powerhouse team paper Rex in theirAfreecaTV Valorant League 2023debut, TenZ shared how he is adjusting to his new agent role in thepost-game interview.
The North American Valorant star expressed that playing Omen is fun for him. He believes Omen is similar to Jett because the controller agent can make a lot of plays.
In Sentinels’ match against PRX, TenZ often positioned himself on high ground on Omen, where he would catch some of his opponents off guard.
Aside from that, he also found success using Omen’s Shadowstep teleport aggressively at the start of the round.
On Haven, the decider map of the series against PRX, TenZ teleported to A sewers and eliminated Wang “Jinggg” Jing Jie’s Reyna at the start of the 23rd round.
Jett’s Tailwind dash allows her to escape dangerous scenarios, and Omen, to a lesser extent, possesses a similar ability.
The hooded controller agent can hold risky corners. When the enemy team uses their utility to clear that area, Omen can quickly teleport to safety.
TenZ explained that Sentinels is still experimenting with their player lineup and agent comps, but we can expect more surprise’s as they continue to make their run at the AVL 2023.
