Some players were quick to praise Capcom for the update.

SFV Netcode is better than GBVS

Played SFV netcode patch for 6 hoursOnly had 1 bad connection (PC, super low latency connection, 1gb ftth)But when you read twitter some people are saying Capcom didnt do anythingI don’t buy it, not sure how it was on PS4/subpar connection, but its a step in right direction.

Gotta say, this impression was from watching expert players play with the post patch. It wasn’t looking good and seemed the same issues as before were still prevalent. But after playing tonight, the majority of my matches ran quite well. That hasn’t happened in years for me.

Netcode was pretty good too me today I think the fix may have worked but who cares about all that when the crispiest seth in the world has the clips on deckpic.twitter.com/YFiWdRP1uB

The bad

While others were not as positive.

Final thought on this topic…One thing that def needs to be fixed is matchmaking…5 bar searches shouldn’t pair me up with people from Brazil and Mexico etc…hoping thats the next fix and they implement a more specific search settings option for matches.https://t.co/QUw4EtbbO8

If Capcom has really reached the technological peak of their netcode, a focus on improved matchmaking, a better system for predicting connection quality, and maybe just an old school region filter would improve the experience.@SFVServer

Meanwhile, well-known programmer, TOOLASSISTED, decided to look under the hood to see what Capcom’s netcode changes actually do.

The netcode patch shows that Capcom has implemented similar changes to Reddit user Altimor’s custom patch.

Altimor was the programmer who released a custom PC mod netcode patchthat pushed Street Fighter V producer Yoshinori Ono to improve the game’s online features.
