TNC Predator parts ways with March
He was with TNC for a year.
Filipino organization TNC Predator has announced that they have released team captain Park “March” Tae-won from their Dota 2 roster.
In aposton their official Twitter account, TNC praised March for “bringing the team closer to the apex of Dota 2’s competitive scene” and explained that his departure comes after the team “decided to go towards a different path to achieve our goals.”
March joined TNC, alongside Australian offlaner Damien “kpii” Chok, last Septemberduring the roster shuffle that followed the conclusion of The International 2019.
March notably led TNC to their first Major championship at the MDL Chengdu Majorback in November last year, where they defeated Vici Gaming in a thrilling 3-1 series.
Despite winning its first Major event, March and TNC struggled for the rest of the 2019-2020 Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) season, finishing 7th-8th in DreamLeague Season 13: The Leipzig Major and failing to even qualify for the ESL One Los Angeles Major.
TNC continued to struggle against inconsistency issues even after the scene shifted to online competitions once the DPC was suspended indefinitely by the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. For example, the team won a championship at the ESL One Thailand online Asian league earlier this month before being eliminated at 5th-6th place in BTS Pro Series: SEA Season 3 last week.
“Through many ups and downs, our Captain March, has proved his abilities to execute game winning strategies and correct judgements on different aspect of the game for the team to fully realize its potential that will later become essential in winning the first Major […] Park Tae-won will always be a key mover for this team and we will always cherish the fruits of the hardwork our roster achieved. Salamat March!” said TNC.
“There is end to everything, had a great run met amazing teammates and people. The best year I had in my long Dota career. Thank you for everything TNC. GL in the future. Will miss dynamic Pinoy fans,” March said in aposton his personal Twitter account.
TNC has not yet announced any replacements for March. Given that they will be looking for both a captain and a position 5 support player, a rarity in the current free agent market in Southeast Asia, it is expected that any replacements won’t be announced in the near future. With that said, we can expect that the team should at least have a full lineup ready for the DPC’s expected return early next year.
